American Idol’s Country Connection

August 28, 2008

American Idol, the mega-hit TV competition that has given us Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, and Josh Gracin, announced this week that they’ll add a new judge to the panel this season. Kara DioGuardi will join Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, and Simon Cowell as the judges for this season…and although she has yet to have a big-time country hit, she has spent time writing songs for Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Faith Hill, and country crossovers, Jewel and Jessica Simpson.

Who knows…maybe she’ll give a bigger voice to country music during this season’s competition!

Josh Gracin Wants YOU!!!

August 2, 2008

(Oh Lordy, I wish Josh wanted ME…for reals, he’s ADORABLE…we met him in Nashville and he has toned up and is BUFF…and cute and all kinds of YUMMY!!!) Josh Gracin is releasing his new single “Unbelievable” in two weeks and for the video, he’s going to put together YOUR home movies of you and your honey! (Not THOSE kind of videos…get your minds out of the gutter!) Josh wants you to send in special videos showcasing your love…weddings, births, engagements or any other videos that you feel puts your love on display. He’ll go over the videos, choose the best ones, notify you, and then put them together to create the new video. Pretty cool, huh? If you have a video you’d like to send in, e-mail it to joshgracinfans08@yahoo.com and maybe we’ll see you on CMT & GAC!

What Do You Think?

July 14, 2008

Nashville Star is on tonight at 9pm on NBC. Does anyone watch the show? We haven’t really gotten into it at all. I think mostly because after we saw Bill Ray Cyrus at the CMA Fest, we decided that we can’t take too much of him. He seems like a really arrogant man who likes to wear his sunglass (not just sunglasses, but aviators) at night and seems to pimp out his daughter constantly. If he mentioned Miley’s name on stage at LP Field one more time, we were going to freak! (Just our thoughts- oh and we LOVE us some Achy Breaky Heart just so you know!)

Anyway, what are your thoughts on the show? Carrie Underwood, Josh Gracin, Phil Stacey, Reba’s tourmate Kelly Clarkson, Miranda Lambert and Chris Young all got their ticket to fame this way (through either Nashville Star or American Idol), is it legit? Or do you think these country hopefuls should pay their dues like everyone else has before making it to the top?
